JOINING THE ROAD SAFETY MARKINGS ASSOCIATION

Add an image descriptionThe RSMA has been established for over thirty years, it seeks to promote the industry as a whole and the collective interests of its members in particular. We represent about 90% of the road marking industry by volume and have members ranging from the smallest to the largest, throughout the country, working to raise standards and promote our industry and its products.

In recent years, the Association has significantly expanded the range of services it provides to members and these now include:

  • The sourcing of training through our nationwide Training Brokerage,
  • NVQ Assessment Services for the road build NVQ/SVQ, through our own CAA Accredited Assessment Centre, which is now one of the biggest specialist centres in the UK, providing our members with low cost assessment services.
  • Reduced cost high quality Health & Safety and Employment Law services
  • Quality Assurance accreditation and development services
  • Preferential premium rates for employer and public liability insurances for member companies
  • Free promotion through our Top Marks magazine, which has a circulation of 8 000

The Association also works to identify and resolve the problems and difficulties facing our members and we have frequent discussions and negotiations with Civil Servants at all levels of Government and Local Authorities. The issues are addressed through our representative committees specialising in Contracting issues, Technical Issues and Marketing issues for the industry; member companies sit on these committees and directly drive Association action and policies.

In an attempt to promote and develop best practice, the Association has also established two specialist forum groups, open to all members:

The Road Marking Forum – which also has client side members and is the basis for local authority/industry consultation and discussion

The RSMA Health & Safety Forum – launched in November 2003, this forum meets two or three times a year to provide members with a focus on Health & Safety issues in addition to an opportunity to share best practice and hear specialist presentations on latest developments.
